The biggest hurdle that most of the students face in their educational period is time management. Learning how to manage and utilize their time is a hard nut to crack. Students can quickly feel overwhelmed by loads of work, assignment submissions, and quiz material. They also need to get some space to clear their head out and enjoy their social life. Tackling all these things at the same time requires some good skill set. This time management is the reason that most students are frustrated and cannot complete any of the tasks. The students will end up doing none of the work if the teachers are giving them a large bundle of workload. As an instructor, it is one of your responsibilities to make the workload easy for students. It is crucial that you let the student recognize the priority of the tasks. Below we have jotted down the top three smart ways that can help the student finish their work timely.
1. Make a schedule:
You need to get a routine with the help of any of the best school timetable software so that the students will know when they are getting an assignment or quiz and when they are free. Your students will be taking five to six subjects in one semester, so it will be quite hard to deal with all six courses. When you have crafted a schedule for all the tasks, it will be relatively easy for the students to get in the flow. Surprise assignments and activities are always hectic because you have not prepared the student for them. Make sure you are in contact with all the other subject teachers so that all of the teachers are not giving tasks at the same duration. Facilitate the student where you can, but do not compromise on the studies.
2. Offer help sessions:
In a class of fifty students, everyone will possess a different mindset. Some of the students may be finding the topic easy, and some are having problems with it. The student will not pay attention to the subjects in which they feel like the teacher is not caring. So give your below-average students some extra time. It is also a possibility that the students are not feeling comfortable to ask the question in front of the entire class, so give them some extra time to ask your queries related to the work.
3. Offer choices:
The student will work more enthusiastically when you offer them some choice in the task. Some students tend towards the practical and creative work and others like theoretical work. So to make students habitual of completing their work gives the students a choice. Offer students two alternatives to make sure the student will complete the task. Giving them a bit of the option will make them more invested in the work. It will also make them invested, and it will look like a motivation rather than a hectic task.
Motivate the students to work on the assignment and also give them enough time to complete it.
